What’s this yoga thing all about?

Yoga is a means to ease suffering; physical, mental, and emotional, through movement, breath work, concentration, and mindfulness practices.

Hi, I’m Holly. It’s great to meet you! I started practicing yoga about a decade ago when my dad pointed out that I was stressed, really stressed. He said yoga could be a good tool to help me feel less stressed, so I gave it a try. In my very first class my teacher said, “When we live in the past we are depressed. When we live in the future we are anxious. But when we live in the present we are content.” I just wanted to be happy and yoga helped me realize that I could be, even while stressed.

Since then, yoga has given me a lot of gifts; strength, flexibility, tranquility, community, and happiness. My aim is to share the practice with others so they too can receive the gifts of yoga.
